SUNGLASSES OF THE RUNWAYS

Funky rims with simplistic forms and everything in between, we all have eyes on the sunglasses of the Spring 2016 runways.

The sunglasses of the Spring 2016 runways are so extravagant they deserve their own report! This season, designers have approached eyewear with a strong combination of art and product design. Fabulous glasses, in all their amazingness, can act subdued and classic (Aviator, Ray-Ban), or, they can be statement pieces that draw a look together. If you’re someone who mostly wears muted tones, pairing your outfit with the likes of mirrored lenses or color-reflective specs is an easy way to spice things up a bit. Beyond function and fashion, sunglasses also act as a reflection of a brand’s current collection, so it’s always interesting to focus on how these detailed pieces tie an aesthetic together in very unique manners.

As far as recent trends go, we’ve seen heavy emphasis on the likes of cat-eyes and D-frames, but in terms of high-end designers, the styles have undergone complete renovations from over-the-top decorative details to geometric shapes to embellished creations and more. Echoing the eccentric ready-to-wear that defined the season, eyewear is certainly the defining accessory. Here are some of our favorite!
